The historic Bower's Harbor Inn was secured by 2mission design and development in 2005. The beautiful historic Inn houses two restaurants and sits on 11 acres of land with exceptional views of and access to the west arm of Grand Traverse Bay. The limited amount of waterfront property that is available on the Old Mission Peninsula makes this project a rare find.

We have worked rigorously with our neighbors, and The Old Mission Peninsula Township to develop a plan to preserve the 650 feet of shoreline, amazing views, a productive vineyard and majestic old growth pines. This project is a passion and as such we've donated a conservation easement to preserve 9.5 acres of the beautiful site in perpetuity.

The existing building on 1.5 acres of land will be developed to include the two existing restaurants and a new micro brewing facility. This new brewery will become an integral part of the growing Old Mission Peninsula wine country. We will utilize locally grown hops and work with our good friends at all of the local wineries to promote the Old Mission Peninsula as the premier destination in Michigan. The remaining 9.5 acres will be preserved and maintained. 2mission has a plan in place to re-concept one of the restaurants, and we have recently partnered with chef Paul Olsen and general manager Tim Kleynenberg. The passion of Paul and Tim will allow us to continue the great tradition at The Bowers Harbor Inn while also making a big impact, and bringing fresh ideas. It is our mission to build The Bowers Harbor Inn and The Bowery, and the new micro brewery in to the premier culinary destination in northern Michigan.

As described above, the new micro brewery will be a perfect addition to this site and to the Old Mission Peninsula wine country. The micro brewery will be part of a new 7,000 sf facility that will also include a 150-180 person reception facility. The new facility will allow The Bowers Harbor Inn to become the premier wedding and private party destination in Michigan.

These epicurean uses will be nestled comfortably on the historic 11 acre site that includes 650 feet of Grand Traverse Bay waterfront, beautiful views, a productive vineyard and majestic old growth pines. We believe that our plan will be a great benefit to the community.

This project was purchased out of receivership. 2mission design and development was able to secure an option on this building before it went through the bankruptcy proceedings. Our local market knowledge and business relationships allowed us to negotiate a favorable purchase price. The tenant was already secured at the time of purchase, and we have secured rents that create a favorable return on investment. The building that is now home to The Blue Tractor is located in the heart of Olde Town. Olde Town has been the site of a significant amount of redevelopment over the past 4 years, and we believe that the addition of The Blue Tractor has helped bring even more energy to the beautiful Olde Town! The Blue Tractor was voted best new restaurant in Traverse City in 2007!!
