Who We Are

2Mission Design & Development is an Ann Arbor based real estate development company that was founded with the purpose of acquiring underutilized real estate to develop vibrant mixed use properties.

In 1993, Jon & Greg developed portions of West Washington Street in Ann Arbor into a mixed-use property, with restaurant space on the first floor & office & residential space in the upper levels, utilizing benefits available to historic preservation & rehabilitation properties. The project was one of the first to bring loft spaces back to life, downtown. Since the West Washington Street development, Jon & Greg have developed more than 200,000 square feet of mixed-use property & transacted more than $70 million in real estate business through the State of Michigan. Most projects, to date, have been or are currently going through the approval process of the Department of Interior Historic Designation.

words of wisdom

"While I understand that having these documents is essential, as I am sure you are aware, these type of agreements are only as good as the character and compatibility of the principals. Fortunately, I believe the two of you possess all the skills as well as those important intangible qualities for a lasting partnership. As time goes on, various elements of your respective contribution to projects may not always be proportionate on individual projects. The total objective is what counts. Mistakes will be made and disappointments will occur and the documents will not cover every circumstance. Actually, once the documents are signed, I doubt that you will ever need them again. A few simple words will be more important than all the documents and legal advice you can obtain----fairness, flexibility, and always sharing credit for success and failures. The fact that your commitment to your friendship, loyalty, and fairness takes priority over money will lead you to solve any unexpected development. I believe with the combination of your abilities and professionalism combined with the support and talent of Andi and Fran, you are destined to great success."
